Whether you are a budding #professional or an expert, writing professional emails are a pre-requisite, yet a tiny combat. According to a survey by the McKinsey Global Institute, workers spend 650 hours in a year on #Emails!
Here are 10 “EMAIL ETIQUETTES” you could follow:
💡Use the subject line wisely. It should be concise yet self-explanatory.
💡Label your attachments. A file name such as ‘image.jpeg’ does not look professional.
💡Compress large files. Ask or inform before sending multiple heavy files.
💡Do not assume privacy. Write an email keeping in mind that it can be read by anyone so that you do not embarrass yourself later on.
💡The last paragraph should have a call to action like ‘Kindly revert back’ or ‘Please let me know’.
💡Acknowledge promptly – mostly within 24 hours.
💡Always proofread. You don’t want to be judged for grammatical errors.
💡Be careful while sending Reply All.
💡Do not use all bolds, emotions, too many exclamations, or SMS language(obviously!)
💡ALWAYS add email addresses last- most of us have faced an issue of sending wrong or an unfinished email.
